F-LEX is an online platform which uses technology to match up paralegals to law firms and in-house counsel. The aim of F-LEX is to help law students to gain as much paid experience as they can, whilst simultaneously offering a pool of talented paralegals to law firms and GCs for projects and peaks of work. Our online platform allows paralegals to manage their profiles easily, enabling updates in terms of availability, education, and experience. We don’t use CVs; but focus on each individual, uploading videos of each paralegal to their profile. We have started to offer training sessions, in conjunction with law firms/in-house clients, to paralegals, ranging from GDPR to IP.

F-LEX was co-founded by Mary Bonsor, a property litigator in London; and James Moore, a software developer. Since it’s inception in August 2016, F-LEX has continued to expand, with over 1,500 paralegals signed up across the UK, collectively speaking over 100 languages. With our central hub in London, we are now expanding throughout the UK, helping law students gain experience in a variety of roles, ranging from Disclosure and E-Discovery to document review, across all areas of law, spanning litigation, commercial, family and employment.

We work with Universities and law firms, helping students to gain a deeper understanding of the pace of change within law; offering some insight into how new technology is re-shaping the profession and offering some guidance in terms of the best career opportunities open to them. We are involved with various Legal Tech initiatives, in London and throughout the UK, with a keen interest in the SQE and what this could mean for young lawyers of the future.

Our passion is to help law students to be better prepared for a career in the ever-shifting landscape of law, using a combination of legal and tech knowledge to facilitate our vision.
